Description
Foods containing at least 0.4 grams per serving of plant sterols eaten twice per day with meals for a daily total intake of at least .8 grams as part of a diet low in saturated fats and cholesterol may reduce the risk of heart disease. One serving of Maximum-Strength Plant Sterols CardioAid supplies 0.4 grams of plant sterols.
- Beta-Sitosterol is a plant sterol. Plant sterols or phytosterols are common components of plant foods, especially plant oils, seeds and nuts, cereals and legumes.
- A complex containing the most common phytosterols, beta sitosterol, campesterol, and stigmasterol.
